To this point in Of Mice and Men, we have seen the varied nature of the relationship between George and Lennie (friendship, father/son, master/pet). I'd like you to think about the following:
1. Does George and Lennie's relationship seem to be one based on need only?
2. Do you think it's wrong to have a friendship based on need only? Why?

1) No the relationship betweeen Geaorge and Lennie does not seem to be based on need only cause if it was then George would probably leave Lennie.
ReplyDelete2) No it's not right to be friends based on need only because it's not right to be friends with someone just for needs. You need friends for eachother to help them and they help you.
1) I think the relationship is based on need only because George cares for Lennie. And like a father George loves him even though they fight and I don't think George would leave him.
ReplyDelete2) No its not wrong. That's what friends are for. If you need something, you should be able to ask them for it.
1) I think the relationship is based on more than just need. They have a some what father son relationship.
ReplyDelete2)No because friends are there to help each other.
1. I think the relationship is not just based on need, George may never admit it but I think he likes having someone by his side at times, even though it is a lot of work, he has someone that will always stick with him.
ReplyDelete2. No, because a good friend will always be there and will be willing to help you with something if you needed it. Although if a person is being to needy then there can be a problem.
1) I think the relationship is just based on need because lennie needs george to stay alive.
ReplyDelete2) No, becase a freind is always there for you.
1) I don't think there relationship is just based on need because they also have that father son relationship that Lennie never had.
ReplyDelete2) no it's not wrong to have a relationship just based on need because true friends will be there for u no matter what, willing to do anything for u , have ur back and be there till the very end.
1. Yes, because of Lennies disabilities he cannot be without George, if George could he would have left him already.
ReplyDelete2. It is wrong because if it is on need alone your just using the other person which is wrong.
1. I think the relationship is based on need because Lennie needs George to help him out in life because of his disabilities in life. George also needs Lennie because he would feel lonely without him.
ReplyDelete2. No, its not wrong because friends are supposed to be there for you and guide you when you need help.
1) I don't think their relationship is only based on need because I think that George genuinely cares for Lennie as a son.
ReplyDelete2) Yes I do, because you shouldn't only be friends with someone because you need something. That is wrong and you are just using the person.
1)I think George and Lennie's relationship is based on more than just need. Basically, they have a father son relationship. George may not say it directly, but he cares about Lennie and likes to have someone around.
ReplyDelete2)Depending on the situation, it could be wrong to have a friendship based on need. It's okay under certain circumstances. For instance, friends should always be there for you when you need something or someone, but if the person is using you, it would be wrong.
1) I think that the relationship between George and Lennie is definetly based on needs. For example, the only reason why George is even with Lennie in the first place is because Lennies aunt needed someone to watch him when she died. But on the other hand George truly cares about Lennie; and you see that when he gets mad at Lennie but then feels bad about it.
ReplyDelete2) Yes, I think having a relationship only based on needs is not healthy. But having a relationship that's a little more give and take, where if one person is in need of assistance the other is able to help is good and also healthy. But not all the time because then it will put a lot of pressure on the relationship and after a while it won't work anymore.
1}I think that the relation ship is based on needs only because George is only helping out by taking care of Lennie has a disability and George promised his dead aunt that he would take care of him.
ReplyDelete2} I think that havign a relationship on needs is bad because then your not enjoing the relationship and it just will end up making you miserable.0
1) No george and Lennie relationship isn't based on need. George really does like lennie as a friend if he didn't he just wud of told him 2 go away and live some where by him self. 2) it is bad 2 hve a relationship base on need. Its bad because then your not rly there friend and its not right.
ReplyDelete1. George and Lennie definatley have a dependent on eachother for a lot of different things.
ReplyDelete2. No cause I think that friends should always be there for eachother no matter what through thick and thin.
1. I think that George and Lennie’s relationship isn’t based on need only because they share the same dream and they care and look out for each other. Even though Lennie has a mental disability, George still takes care of Lennie and Lennie protects George too.
ReplyDelete2. I do think it’s wrong to have a friendship based on need only because that’s not a friendship is for. Having a friendship with someone is being there for each other, helping each other out in any situation, and not least willing to do anything for each other.
1.No George and Lennie's relationship isn't based on need because they care for each other.
ReplyDelete2.Yes because it's rude to have friendship based on need. Having friendship with someone is that you would be there for each other.
